When teachers teach writing, they do need the approaches that help them during the teaching and learning process; as known that the approach is important particularly in teaching writing. Therefore this research was aimed to figure out the writing approaches used by teacher in teaching writing to the tenth grade students at SMA IT Ar Rahman Banjarbaru.
This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from the teaching writing process. There were two methods in collecting data: interview and documentation. The techniques for analyzing data were data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. The researcher used methodological triangulation to get validity of data. Besides, the researcher collects the data by using interview which is supported by documentation of lesson plan.
The result showed that the teacher used approaches when teaching writing, such as, product approach, process approach, strategic approach, cognitive approach, genre approach, pragmatic approach, process genre approach, and concept model approach. All in all, the teacher applied the approaches; it could help the teacher to get easier in teaching writing. |
