READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY OF THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 1 RANTAU IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022

Abstract

Based on the research findings, the reading comprehension ability in SMPN 1 Rantau In academic year 2021/2022 were the results showed that students' ability in reading comprehension is the basic stage for students to be able to continue learning materials at the next grade level. The different ways of learning or the material studied during class cause students difficulties in comprehending reading material. The effectiveness of learning reading comprehension for seventh graders of SMPN 1 Rantau for the academic year 2021/2022 shows good results, but there needs to be improvement so that students' abilities in reading comprehension are high. Some students still have a low category, which is due to the adjustment process experienced by each of these students in the introduction of words and sentences in English, so they have not been able to solve the questions given with the understanding expected by the teacher.
