Abstract:
Phonology plays an important role in English language learning. Someone who comprehends phonology is able to develop good pronunciation. The proper pronunciation makes the message conveyed easy to understand and the communication between speaker and listener becomes more successful. However, Phonology is considered challenging and difficult for learners. Learners often have problems understanding Phonology. This paper aims to discuss about the phonological problems faced by English language learners. This paper was written based on library research, which means that this research was conducted by reading books, previous research journals, and other literature-based data sources. Based on
the result, there are several aspects of phonological problems faced by English learners. The factors that cause phonological problems are also discussed in this
paper.
