dc.description.abstract Vocabulary is one of the basic components of language which can be a challenge for foreign language learners to face during the language learning process. This paper attempts to find out the problems that students face of vocabulary in EFL students context. This paper also attempts to examine several suggestion ways to improve the vocabulary mastery in EFL students. This paper uses the literature review method and uses sources from ResearchGate and Google Schoolar. Which are then analyzed, reviewed and synthesized.. The results of this paper indicate that there are several problems in learning new vocabulary including, lack of seeking exposure, differences in written and spoken form, and difficulty in memorizing. This paper also show there are several ways for EFL students to improve vocabulary mastery, include read widely, use context clues, make connections, use flashcards, practice with games and activities, keep a vocabulary journal, use them in context, and learn prefixes, suffixes, and roots.
