SPELLING PROBLEMS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

Abstract

Spelling is crucial to written language. The potential for spelling errors in writing could alter and complicate the meaning and comprehension of written content. This paper explores the challenges and complexities associated with the English spelling system. This paper also highlights the causes of those challenges and complexities. These problems can be categorized into four type, which is omission errors, substitution errors, insertion errors, and ambiguous errors. Furthermore, this paper include an explanation about English spelling rules and discusses the solution given to the spelling problems often found in English language learning.
