Reading is a process when the reader makes meaning based on their knowledge and previous experience. Teaching reading in a country that English as a second language is very difficult especially in junior high school, because there are many differences between the first and second languages, because of that, the teachers need strategy to teach their students. Strategy is how the teacher teaches their student, hopefully with that way the student can be easy to receive the lesson.
This study used descriptive qualitative research method with 2 junior high schools in Banjarmasin as the participants. The instrument of this research is observation and interview. The observation was done 3 times each school and the interview was done one time each school.
