Analysis of students' need means an attempt to identify some things of students that become consideration to decide what material must be study. The term "need" indicates the existence of certain problem that call for intervention and resolving. The certain problem means as things must be learnt, difficulties must be resolved, challenges must be faced, and deciding what prime concern must be created. Come from that, the writer interests in conduct the research under the title ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS NEEDS IN ENGLISH OF MULTIMEDIA STUDENTS IN SMKN 1 BATAGUH. This research focuses to analyze the students' needs in learning English. The writer tries to find out the needs of English at the eleventh grade of multimedia students of SMK Negeri 1 Bataguh academic year of 2020/2021.
In this study, the researcher used questionnaire as the instrument to getting the data. The questionnaire consisted of 15 questions wich clasified on 5 item, those items are students needs of English in general, in speaking, in reading, in writing, and in listening. After collecting the data, the writer used qualitative method to describe the analysis.
The result of this research was the students consider thet they were still in the beginner level of English proveciency level. Most of students felt difficult in all of English skill, especially in speaking and reading skill. Studens needed everything that related or supported their field of knowledge, included of the need for each skill. Other than that, the students needed the authentic or specific English material for multimedia field and the appropriate teaching technique based on the topic and English skill. It because the students needed English not only for the activity in the school but also for support their career in the future.
