Abstract:
Teaching media is a tool that can be used to help teacher to support their teaching and learning activity with intension is to provide learners with the knowledge and abilities needed. In teaching English, the use of teaching media is also important to support teaching and learning process. With the use of technology that has been widely used in educational fields. Hence, the use of online learning media such as Schoology certainly will greatly assist teachers in learning and teaching activities. From these description, in this chapter the author will discuss about the effectiveness of Schoology as an online medium for teaching and learning English.
The research used systematic literature review. Systematic literature review is a data collection methods in research by collecting and analyzing various previous studies related to the focus of the topic under study. The sample of the literature review used in this study is from 30 journals with similar topic. Analysis data was done by analyze the sample of journals.
The results of the research showed that Schoology as online media is widely acknowledged as a useful tool for enhancing teaching and learning processes in the classroom. It improves English competence and has a favorable effect on student motivation. For both teachers and students, Schoology provides good accessibility, customization, and a rich educational experience. It empowers teachers to design and manage assessments, provide feedback, and monitor student progress. The platform also provides various resources such as quizzes, assignments, videos, pictures, and audio files, fostering student interaction and collaboration. Schoology versatility enables users to access it conveniently from anywhere, enhancing reading comprehension and facilitating a streamlined learning process. The user-friendly interface and widespread popularity of Schoology make it a flexible and effective platform for enriching the teaching and learning experience in English education.
